Jewell Smith Wall

Mrs. Wall was born May 5, 1935 in Lexington to William L. and Chattie Ritter Smith. She had been a resident of the area all of her life and attended High Point College (University). Mrs. Wall was employed for sixteen years with the Sears Company and also held her N.C. Real Estate Brokerage License. She was an active member of Green Street Baptist Church and the Lydia Watson Sunday School Class. Mrs. Wall had served faithfully as Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, and on various committees. She was also a member of the Literary League. She could often be found in her yard doing her gardening, which she greatly enjoyed. She was a loving wife, mother, and sincerely devoted to her grandchildren. Mrs. Wall was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are her husband of fifty-five years, Richard D. Wall of the home and her children; Zana Wall-Rogers and husband Tim of Dana Point , California and Blythe D. Wall and wife Candace of High Point. Mrs. Wall has two sisters; Janet Hughes and Betty Safrit, both of High Point. Also surviving are her dear grandchildren: Tyler, Faith, and Garrett Wall.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 am in Green Street Baptist Church with the Reverend Frank Hensley officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Foyer of the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
