

He was born August 21, 1927 in Wilkes-Barre, PA to the late John and Anna Zluchowski. He served in the US Navy as a seaman until the end of WW2. Joe majored in Pre-med at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio and earned a Bachelor of Science degree.
He married Nancy (Stewart) Skee (deceased Nov 23, 2015) on June 9, 1951 at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. He was commissioned, as a second lieutenant and he took command of a U.S. Army Ordinance unit where he developed new weaponry for the Korean War and then transferred to Defense for the City of Pittsburgh. Over the years, he remained active with the US Army Reserve and retired from the Army after achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. During his civilian career, he became an expert in the manufacture of color television technology for the Radio Corporation of America and retired in 1985 after 30 years service.
He became an avid and highly-skilled golfer winning many tournaments right up until his passing. He was a resident icon and course Ranger at the Oak Hollow Municipal Golf Course, a setting he dearly loved and where he spent virtually every day for many years. His interests focused on his beloved wife, seven children and Oak Hollow. During his lifetime he rescued nearly 100 thousand golf balls from their solitude lost in the brush.
He is survived by his, seven children, Frank Skee and wife Ada of High Point, John Skee and wife Colleen of Stuart, FL, Ceanne Fausel and husband Greg of New Philadelphia, OH, Terry Skee and wife JoAnn of Tampa, FL, Henry (Hank) Skee of Lexington, Mary Jo Driskill and husband Jay of Wabash, IN, and Wendele Mealy and husband Greg of Wabash, IN; and twenty grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Josephine in Buford, Georgia, her son James and daughter Joann and, finally, his brother John Zee and wife Sonia of Peekskill, NY. He was pre-deceased by his brother Michael and sister Genevieve of Wilkes-Barre, PA.
He was a steadfast member and supporter of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in High Point, which he also, dearly loved. A family gathering and burial will be held Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Salisbury Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 10 am followed by a memorial mass and reception at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church at 1:30 PM.
