Knox Wilson

He was born September 23, 1924 in High Point, son of the late John Knox Wilson and Mina Kirkman Wilson Hall. Mr. Wilson graduated from High Point High School and attended High Point College. He proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS Corry DD 463 Destroyer.

On June 2 , 1947, he married the former Marian Marra of Saratoga Springs, New York who died in 2006. In addition, he was predeceased by a brother, J. Gurney Wilson of Dallas, Texas and son-in-law David W. Henderson.

Mr. Wilson enjoyed his career of 60 years with Henley Paper Company. He was a 50 year member of Reid Lodge of the Masonic Order, Chamber of Commerce, American Business Club.

He is survived by two daughters Marianne Jenkins (Ben) of Charlotte, Rebecca Henderson of Colfax and one son John Knox Wilson III (Kelly) of N. Myrtle Beach, SC. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Melissa Patterson (Billy), Catherine Carrick, Natalie Henderson, Jessica Henderson, Caitlin Wilson and John Knox Wilson IV.

Mr. Wilson was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church where a memorial service will be held at 2 o’clock, Friday, June 22. The family will greet friends after the service in the Parish Hall.
