

Mr. Tucker was born in Sanford, May 8, 1949, a son of the late Virgil and Maxine Atkins Tucker. He was an Army veteran of Vietnam and a well-respected self-employed painter. Buddy was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and old westerns.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Janett Chandler Tucker; two sons, Jerry Tucker and wife Cyndi and Michael Tucker and wife Julie; two sisters, Rita Lockhart and husband Marvin and Kathy Montgomery and husband Ricky; two brothers, Virgil Waylon Tucker and wife Katherine and Randy Tucker; three granddaughters, Aubrey Ridge, Emily Martin and Evie Holt; a grandson, Matthew Burke; a great-grandson, Brayden Reese; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Buddy’s Life will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel by the Rev. Darrell Greene and Rev. Deon Parker. Burial will follow in Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
