She was born January 11, 1921, in Pitt County, the daughter of Daniel and Mary Ella Edwards. On April 6, 1940, she married William Ernest “Dub” Chilton, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her sisters Bessie Hart and Doris Denning; and brother Charles Edwards.
Surviving are one daughter SusanHutchens (Charles) of Climax; sons David Chilton (Brenda) of Pleasant Garden and Ron Chilton (Angie) of Burlington; sister, Frances Craig of Paso Robles California; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
