She was born July 24, 1920 to Elizabeth Estelle Shoaf Boyd and Robert Sidney Boyd in Mooresville, NC. She completed her high school education in 1936 in Mooresville and graduated from Flora MacDonald College, Red Springs, NC with a B.A. degree in elementary education. She taught in Cabarrus and Rowan counties as well as High Point.
Lib, as she was affectionately known, was a dedicated wife and mother and a long time member of First Presbyterian Church of High Point. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ray Correll in 1983. She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Dianne of Charlotte. She resided at the Presbyterian Home of High Point before moving to River Landing at Colfax, NC.
A memorial service will be held at River Landing Multi-purpose Room on Tuesday, December 27 at 2:00 PM. Memorials may be sent to First Presbyterian Church, 918 N. Main Street, High Point, NC 27262.
