

HIGH POINT – Mary Josephine Lerussi Williams (“Mawaw”), 90, of High Point, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, January 28th, 2018, following a lengthy illness. Mary was born on August 13th, 1927 in Wellsville, Ohio to Martin and Rosa (Barbieri) Lerussi.
Mary retired from Prudential after a successful business career. Over the years, she was an accomplished seamstress, an avid bridge player, loved reading, golf, and bowling, and was devoted to creating intricate cross-stitch designs, as well as being an exceptional cook. Her favorite pastime however, was spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her two brothers; Oliver and Elio Lerussi, and by her daughter; Rosemary Williams.
On December 10th, 1949, she married James Garfield Williams, Jr., who predeceased her in 2007. She is survived by her two children; Linda W. Bishop (Robert) and James G. Williams III (Susan), and in addition, two grandchildren; Gregory S. Williams (Sonya) and James G. Williams IV (Stephanie), and one great-granddaughter; Hannah N. Williams. Mary also leaves her sister; Theresa L. Camaioni of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, and sisters-in-law; Martha Baisey and Wanda Williams of High Point, and Helen Williams of Emporia, Virginia, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at Sechrest Funeral Service, 1301 E. Lexington Avenue, High Point, NC on Thursday, February 1st, 2018 from 6pm to 8pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at Friday, February 2nd, 2018 at 10:30am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 4145 Johnson Street, High Point, NC 27265 with Rev. Thomas P. Norris OSFS officiating.
