Norene was born in Twin Falls, ID, October 29, 1925, a daughter of the late Elmer and Lela Clampett Annis. Heaven has gained a loving Mom and Grandma to her family and many other children. She was a woman who used her talents for cooking for her church in Texas as well as baking, sewing and knitting for friends and family and was known as the neighborhood Grandma. In her last 30 years, she has knitted thousands of pompom slippers and given them away to friends, family, children in orphanages, senior citizens in nursing homes, hospitals and hospice patients. We will miss her sweet smile, her homemade cinnamon rolls, playing cards and watching game shows with her. We take comfort in her salvation and know that she is celebrating her home going with Jesus. Norene was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Franklin Davis; a daughter, Kathy McClimans; her siblings, Howard, Wayne, Wesley and Amil Annis, Elsie Annis Marsh, Mona Annis Dodd. She was a member of Laurel Oak Christian Church and a welcome visitor at Triad Church.
Surviving are five children, Betty Taylor, Jeff Davis and wife Katie, Ivis "Bo" Davis, June Arnold, Lyle Davis and wife Beverly; a brother, Clyde Annis; sixteen grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
We will be celebrating Norene's life and restoration at 10 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2019 at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Allen Brown and Pastor Todd Howerton. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7 until 9 p.m. and at other times at the residence. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont.
