Pauline "Polly" Wall Greene

Polly was born in 1922 in Mooresville, NC to Pauline and Walter Wall. She grew up with her brother, Joe Wall,who preceded her in death. After graduating from Grady Memorial Hospital Nursing School in 1945, Polly married Thomas “Tom” H. Greene in 1946. Polly and Tom were married more than 60 years when Tom died in 2007.

After leading an exciting career in nursing for over 40 years, Polly retired from High Point Regional Hospital. She then devoted much of her time to painting, church activities, the Hospital Guild, and other volunteer activities. She loved traveling and meeting new people. Her trips included travel to Central American and Africa on multiple school and church building missions with her church.

A devoted mother, Polly loved her daughters and sons-in-law - Rebecca "Becky" Pitts (Bob), Martha Cranford (Richard), Mary Honeycutt (Aaron), and Amanda Greene. Polly's beautiful smile will be dearly missed by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held for Polly on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 at 10:00 am at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with the Reverend Richard A. Howle officiating. Visitation will be in the Asbury Room after the memorial service. Her ashes will be interned next to her husband Tom Greene at Wesley Memorial Columbarium privately.
