Dear Harriet, James and family,
As Ron exited this life into eternal life Dec. 28, he left behind many friends and loved ones, including his associates at work. I'm honored to call him my friend and will miss him. I met Ron in July 2005 when I started working with him. He served my family during the death of my father in 2010 and as always treated our family with professionalism, care and compassion. I enjoyed working with him and talking about growing up in the rural areas of the state. He was the quintessential southern gentleman.

Ron was very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful in serving families during their time of sorrow.We were blessed that he took care of our family after the passing of our dear Bob. Sechrest was fortunate to have him on their staff as a funeral director. Ron was one of the best and will be missed. May

I met Ronnie when his sister was about to marry my brother.  We spent quite a lot of time together and shared a love of music and laughter. Ronnie had a deep kindness about him even at nine years old. I have very good memories to last forever.

Just want you to know you are in our thoughts at this time. Words cannot express the sorrow we feel at your loss.  Richard & I will be forever grateful for the way he served our family during our time of need. Your family will always have a place in our hearts as we remember the good times we have shared over the years.

Ronnie was my best friend from grade 6 through 12.  I had sent him several cards recently to cheer him up and to invite him to meet me for lunch one day soon.  I can hear his laughter right now.  We would have a great time during high school classes and recess periods laughing and cutting-up as teenagers do.  Ronnie was always very focused on what he wanted to do in life.  I recall one day in senior English with Mrs. Averette, Ronnie was reading a book on becoming a mortician and funeral director... He was pondering over all the various types of caskets and Cadillac hearses he wanted for his funeral home. Ronnie could also see the humor in his choice of profession as well.  I shall never forget that Ronnie said the motto of his funeral home would be..."We pick up where you leave off."  When he said that I just broke-out laughing and Mrs. Averette was not pleased with that interruption to her class.  I also had the privilege of knowing Ronnie's parents.  They were delightful.  Ronnie and I talked most days after school either just before "supper" or just after.  He never failed to make me laugh with some new joke or quip.  I am sorry to learn of Ronnie's death.  He was a very kind person and I never heard him say an unkind word about anyone.  Ronnie was determined to excel in his classes, his profession, and in life.  I believe he achieved his goals.  My wish for Ronnie is: "Go forth upon your journey from this world dear child of God in the power of the Father who created you. Into the hands of the Son who redeemed you; Into the Heart of the Holy Spirit who restores you. May the Communion of Saints enfold you; the company of angels behold you and the Heavenly host surround you; May peace be yours this day and the Heavenly City, your home."

I had the privilege of working with Ron many years ago.  Our friendship continued even though we didn't see each other regularly.  It was always a treat when I would run into him at the grocery store, etc.  He will be dearly missed.

I was a student at CCMS when Ron was there along with a number of students from the Raleigh area. Ron was a fun loving guy that we all enjoyed sharing time with.
May God share his peace with you at this loss.

Ron was a great fellow member of IHM Church.  He also stopped by our family home after my Dad passed away.  His service is appreciated, and he will be missed.  May Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ be with the Horton family during this time of mourning.

Ronnie and I are second cousins and went to high school together.  I remember fondly the fun times we used to have...going to movies together, cruising around the Tastee Freeze in Fuquay, and sitting on the grass in his front yard when his family lived on 401-S just watching the cars go by.  He was a good and honorable person.  Rest in peace, Ronnie.

He was there for me when I needed him most.  He was truly a professional  funeral director and a wonderful friend.

Ron was a dear friend of ours for many years. We will miss him!

Ron will be missed by all of us who had the privilege of knowing and working with him. His professionalism and sincerity will forever live in our memories.
