Sammy Ray Mashburn

Sammy was born in Buncombe County, August 23, 1946, a son of the late Eckel Henry Mashburn and Nora Gertrude Lackey Mashburn. He retired from Lilly Drum Company (Valspar) many years of service. Sammy enjoyed NASCAR, fishing and working on automobiles. He was a jack of all trades. He was preceded in death by his wife, Belinda Alice Fields Mashburn, three sisters, Annette Mashburn Blakley, Louise Mashburn Franks and Eloise D Mashburn; two brothers, John RIley "J.R." Mashburn and Joe Barr "J.B." Mashburn. Sammy was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are two sons, Ray Mashburn and wife Tammy and Jeff Mashburn; three grandchildren, J.T. Mashburn, Tyler Mashburn and Hunter Mashburn; four sisters, Lillian Shelley, Elizabeth Casper, Annie Belle Clary and Teresa Hilton; a brother, Manuel Mashburn.

A Celebration of Sammy's life will be held at 12 noon Friday, May 1, 2020 in the Davis Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Tom Fields. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 11 a.m. until the service. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County.
