Shelby Jean was born in Guilford County, November 19, 1936, a daughter of the late George and Pearlie New Duncan. She retired from High Point Regional Hospital after 28 years of service. Shelby Jean was a faithful member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Tuck" Tucker; a sister, Barbara Jane Guffey and a brother, G. Richard Duncan. Shelby loved people and cooking.
Surviving are a son, Keith Lassiter and his wife Kim; a brother, Kenneth Duncan, Sr. and his wife Brenda; three grandchildren, Christopher Keith Lassiter (April), Jennifer Brannock (Jamie) and Brittney Nielson (Jacob); five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Shelby's life will be held Thursday at 12 noon in the Sechrest-Davis Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Keith Wall. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 11a.m. until the service. Memorials may be directed to Woodlawn Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
