

Stephen was born in High Point, January 12, 1950, a son of the late Samuel and Mamie Wilson King. A resident of the High Point area his entire life, he retired from ABF Freight after many years of service, where he was a witness to his co-workers. He was a faithful member of Friendly Baptist Church for 36 years and a member of Teamsters Local #391. Stephen was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved to be with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Phillips and two brothers, Thurman and Ray King.
Surviving are his loving wife of 42 years, Libby Samuel King; a son, Steve King and wife Amy; two grandsons, Jacob David King and Jonathan Stephen King; two sisters, Ethel Hiatt and Magdalene Austin; four brothers, Marvin King and wife Mercydee, Howard King and wife Debbie, Rev. Grayson King and wife Louise and Ronnie King and wife Cathy; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.
A Celebration of Stephen’s life will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel by Pastor Tony Sluss and Pastor Tommy Harrold. Burial will follow in Lebanon United Methodist Church cemetery.
