Victor joined the United States Air Force in 1958 and served at Lackland AFB in Texas for 4 years. After an honorable discharge, he worked for the US Government, teaching governmental travel policies and procedures. His work took him all around the world.
Vic and his partner Jim enjoyed shopping for furniture and accessories and having a beautifully decorated homes in Maryland and NC. They loved to entertain and had many friends over their forty years together. Victor moved back to North Carolina after the death of Jim.
Victor is survived by his sister Crystal (husband Don), cousin & confidant Lisa Austin, and nephew Brandon Myers (wife Michele). He was preceded in death by his partner Jim Lockerman, mother & much loved stepfather, Florence & Homer Weavil; brother Carlton Workman and nephew Tyler Myers.
Victor will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His unique laugh and huge smile; his love of arguing politics; the way he cared about his family and friends. Those are the things we will remember about him.
A celebration of life gathering will be held at the home of Lisa Austin on Saturday, March 4th from 1 – 4 pm.
