Virginia Seward Smith

Virginia E. Smith, 96, of Thomasville passed away on December 23, 2010. She was born December 19, 1914 in Alamance County, a daughter of the late Robert Woodson Seward and Eva Lou Womble. Virginia was a graduate of High Point High School and attended High Point College. She had been the financial secretary for the First Baptist Church of High Point and the First Presbyterian Church of High Point, and was a bookkeeper for Creative Plastic Molders of Lexington, NC. Virginia was a life long member of the First Baptist Church of High Point.

She is survived by two sons, David W. Smith and his wife Glenda of High Point, and Robert J. Smith and his wife Wanda of Charlotte, NC, two sisters, Irene Brooks and Mary Ruth Seward, both of High Point, four grandchildren, Erin Lathrop of Seneca, SC, Andrew Smith of Lexington, NC, Melissa Fox and Rob Smith, both of Charlotte, NC, eight great grandchildren, Walker Lathrop and Ava-Grace Lathrop, both of Seneca, Emma Smith and Leah Smith of Lexington, Lucas Fox , Owen Fox, Hartley Smith, and Betty Lou Smith all of Charlotte.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew H. Smith, one daughter, Virginia Eilene Smith, one sister, Evelyn Seward and one brother, Horace Seward.

Graveside Services will be conducted on Monday, December 27, 2010 at 11am at Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery in High Point.
