VonElla Allred, a cherished and beloved resident of High Point, North Carolina, passed away on December 30, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on October 18, 1936, in North Carolina, VonElla was known for her faithful, devoted, selfless, and thoughtful nature. She was hard-working, humorous, generous, and loyal, and her wise and patient demeanor inspired and touched the lives of many.
VonElla, affectionately known as Vonnie, was married to Carl "Boo" Allred for 71 loving years. Together, they raised four beautiful children—Connie, Leigh, Ray, and David. Vonnie devoted her life to being a homemaker and was the mom anyone would want, a legacy that continues through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Some of her last words were, "I hoped I fulfilled the call of God on my life." Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are her enduring legacy.
The family expresses deep gratitude to all the in-home caregivers prior to Pennybyrn, and to the staff and caregivers of Pennybyrn at Maryfield of High Point, as well as the many friends she made through the years.
Preceded in Vonnie's death were her parents, Wade and Susie Garner; one sister, Joyce Jones; one brother, Phil Garner; and son-in-law, Charles Davies.
She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Carl "Boo" Allred; children, Connie Davies, Leigh (Cary) Mullinnix, Ray Allred, and David (Missie) Allred; ten grandchildren, Adrienne Mullinnix Hollern, Bryce (Melissa) Mullinnix, Justin (Mathilda) Davies, Christopher (Hannah) Davies, Nathan Allred, Caroline (Samuel) Staton, Mackenzie (Isaac) Shore, Garrett Allred, Bailey Allred, and Evan Allred; eleven great-grandchildren, Thomas Hardy, Seth Hollern, Haleigh Hollern, Madeline Mullinnix, Maddox Mullinnix, Carl Davies, Felicia Davies, Clayton Davies, Abrielle Staton, Nathaniel Staton, Indi Shore, and one on the way.
Additionally, Vonnie is survived by her brother William Garner (Evelyn) and sister Jean O'Conner.
A Celebration of Vonnie's Life will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 12 p.m. at Sechrest-Davis Funerals and Cremations of High Point. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park.
