Edwin was a good friend and suite mate at UNC, Chapel Hill in the 1960’s.  I was honored to be a member of Edwin’s wedding party in his marriage to Kay.  I just learned of his death and am so sorry that he is gone.

Edwin was a very special giving man.  I am honored to have known him and call him friend.  He will be missed.

I grew up across the street from the James family:  Sandra and Edwin and their parents Elsie and Elmer.  We were a very close-knit neighborhood.  All the 300-400 East Farris, Madison Ave., and Hamilton Street kids were like one family, and all the adults knew each other well.  We had certain traditions, as a neighborhood, that I cherish to this day.  Edwin was always a part of the life of the group.  It's sad to realize he's gone, but certainly his spirit and his contributions  will live on.  It's been many years since I left "the neighborhood" on East Farris, but Edwin will always be prominent in my memories of those good times.

Edwin was the sweetest and kindest man I have ever know.  He meant so much to my Mom and my sister and me. He was our angle when she passed away in April.  I loved the funny emails that we would send back and forth and miss them now.

I haven't seen Edwin in 50+ years, but I remember him as a really nice and special person in High Schoolsomeone who always made me feel special, when I was with him.  He took me on my first ride in an air-conditioned vehicle on our way to a lake near Winston for my first attempt to water ski.  One of my most vivid memories of our Black Bison football team was watching Edwin score four touchdowns against Salisbury in a victory.  I can still see him leaping over the last defender in one of those scores.  He was special, and I extend my deepest sympathies to his family.

I first met Edwin more than 30 years ago.  I was fortunate to be one member of a group of friends in Edwin's large circle of friends.  There were four couples in our group and we had wonderful times together on vacations, at parties, football games, or just home gatherings and cookouts.  Edwin was one of the most generous and compassionate people I have known.  He had a heart of gold and you can rest assured there was never a dull moment when Edwin was around.  Some of my fondest memories were times spent with Edwin and our close group of friends.  He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.  Edwin, you were loved by many.  Rest peacefully dear friend.

Edwin was the kindest person (and the most  fun) that  I knew...He and my mother Melvin Amos enjoyed each other's company and stories and the salt air on her porch overlooking the ocean..I happily got mixed up in their love for life and adored the hours and hours of good food ,laughter and limes..
He was a devoted friend...was always there when you needed to talk..His faith spread threw his words and you felt better...
He loved his FAMILY and friends..
I consider myself fortunate to have been one.

Edwin is one of the loved and respected sales Legends in our 3M Abrasives business.  A leader and mentor throughout his career.  I recall if Edwin was around people were always smiling.  God Bless Edwin.

Although I haven't seen Edwin in a few years, I have fond memories of his friendship and professionalism while working with him at 3M. He was a really great guy, and so fun to be around. I will miss him.

Edwin always was giver and was the team leader of the 3M High Point sales team.He had a wonderful career with 3M he mentored many of the sales reps that came through the High Point Branch and was known as the go to guy for advise and direction. He was a great friend to all and will be missed by all of us. Rest easy Edwin you have earned it...

I first knew of Edwin James when he was a star football player at High Point Central High School. He was the kind of player and person younger men sought to emulate.  He is truly one of the kindest and most gracious human beings I have ever known. He loved boating and fishing on God's ocean, and he touched in an indelibly positive way the lives of all he encountered. Thank you Edwin for touching my life.  Rest in peace in the arms pf Gpd/

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our lifetime friend, Edwin James.    He will be a longtime friend in our Hearts and we Pray for peace for his Family during this time of sorrow and great loss.   He fought hard and gave of himself to others unselfishly while fighting for his own life.  EDWIN was a good Father and Grandfather to his children and a friend to many.   He will forever be missed by all of us who were proud to know him and call him "OUR FRIEND".      Love to you, Emily, Bill,( Edwin's Sister), Sandra Miller, and to  his entire family.
