In her earlier years, Carolyn and Mike would flip homes. Carolyn loved to clean, paint, and decorate these homes. Together, they took pride in turning a distressed home into a beautiful home. Carolyn loved living in Saugatuck, the beach, the sand dunes, & sunsets. She would often drive to Oval Beach to watch the sunsets. She found beauty in seashells and coral, and loved taking the grandkids to the dunes and beach to play and swim. She was also an avid decorator and enjoyed being a homemaker. Carolyn always wanted to help others in need. Over the years, she would donate time and resources to the Food Sharing Group at Church of the Holy Spirit, Highland, MI where they provided groceries and meals for families in need. She also supported the St. Vincent Home in Pontiac, MI where she donated needed items to the young moms and kids who stayed there. In her later years, she assisted Christian Neighbors at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Saugatuck, MI by working alongside other members of the church providing clothes, coats, food, and other essentials to those in need. Later, she developed a passion for the children at St. Jude’s Hospital. She would buy fun headbands and hats for kids with cancer. Carolyn loved making people feel special and showing her appreciation for the people in her life by giving them her special gift bags. It made her heart happy to give, and she will be dearly missed.
