Dwayne Allen Shockey

Dwayne Allen Shockey of Highland, Michigan, born February 10, 1957, passed peacefully at home on March 21, 2026. He is now reunited in heaven with his parents, Lewis and Grace Shockey, and his beloved Mary Korpi.

Dwayne lived life on his own terms—boldly, freely, and exactly how he wanted. He was the kind of man who could light up a room, always the life of the party, with a laugh, a story, and a glass of Crown Royal Apple close by. He loved the simple joys—rolling dice, sharing moments, and being surrounded by people. And when he loved, he loved deeply. He had a giving heart, always willing to offer kindness and help—even when it wasn’t deserved.

He leaves behind his daughter, Libiya Shockey Smarr, and her husband, Jeremy Smarr of Bluffton, Texas. He was a proud grandfather to Summer and Wyatt Smarr, and a great-grandfather to Koen Smarr, all of whom will carry his spirit and stories with them. He is also survived by his siblings, as well as many nieces and nephews who will cherish the memories they shared with him.

Dwayne will be deeply missed, remembered for his big personality, his generosity, his love for life, and the way he made people feel when he was around.
