Florence Aldine Risinger

Florence Aldine Risinger, age 87, of Highland, died Sunday, March 14, 2021, at the Medilodge of Milford. Left to cherish her memory are her five children: Kevin Tornow, Marlin (Brenda) Tornow, Julie (Brad) Fletcher, David Tornow, and Roy (Cindy) Tornow; her eighteen grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; her six great-grandchildren; and her siblings: Viola (Jack) Schmitz, Stanley (Marilyn) Good, Sebbie Harrison, Lila Skags, Nancy Good, Theola Partington, Blair (Daria) Good, Donald (Judy) Good, and Barry (Margie) Good.

Florence was born June 14, 1933, in Pine Township, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Stanley and Geraldine (Patterson) Good. Throughout her adult life, Florence worked as a nurse’s aide at Lourdes Senior Community in Waterford for over twenty years, and worked as a sales associate at Walmart in White Lake for ten years until her retirement. In her free time, Florence enjoyed knitting and crocheting, working in her flower garden, and taking trips all over the United States. She was a wonderful woman who will be greatly missed.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Geraldine; her daughter, Terri Tornow; and her two sisters: Phyllis Gothy and Barbara Davis.

A funeral service will take place on Sunday, March 21, 2021, at 11:00 am, at the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home Highland Chapel, 3295 East Highland Road, Highland, Michigan 48356. Florence’s family will be present to receive guests at the funeral home on Saturday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm, and again on Sunday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Pastor Gerald Coggins will officiate. Florence will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery on Monday, March 22, 2021, at 11:00 am.
