Francine Yolande Barnett

Francine Yolande Barnett, age 85, of White Lake, passed away Monday, July 11, 2022. Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughter, Miriam (Ronald) Kreuger; her four grandchildren: Amanda (Nick), Joshua, Jaime, and Brianna; her great-granddaughter, Ava; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Francine was born June 15, 1937, in Bordeaux, France, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Henri and Mauricette (Bossy) Lagedamont. She met James Barnett during his service in the U.S. Military when he was stationed in France, and they fell in love! They were married in France on September 28, 1957. Francine and James moved to the United States to begin their family. Francine worked as a cook for the Huron Valley School District for many years, and greatly enjoyed her time with the students at Lakeland High School, where she worked until her retirement. In her free time, Francine loved to cook, go for morning walks with her neighbor, and spend time with her family. Some of Francine’s fondest memories were made on camping trips in the fifth wheel; in Michigan and around the country! She also loved to travel back home to France to visit. She was a wonderful woman, mother, grandmother, and wife who will be greatly missed.

Francine was preceded in death by her parents, Henri and Mauricette; her loving husband of sixty-two years, James; her son, Henri Barnett; and her three siblings: Marcel, Monique, and Andre.

In accordance with Francine’s wishes, cremation will take place. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road, Highland, Michigan 48356. Francine’s family will receive visitors on Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm.
