

George White, age 65, of White Lake; passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer on March 17, 2012. Known to his family as “Butch”, he proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a Tool Maker at Harding Tube in Walled Lake for many years. Putting his family first, he was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 44 years Jeanne; children Brian (Winifred Pinet) White, Adam (Diane) White; grandchildren Jacob, Aimee, Owen, and Jordan; siblings Roger (MaryAlice) White, Shelly (George) Cassar, and the late Larry White; brother-in-law to Debbie White; son of Necia White and the late George A. White; along with many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends. The Funeral Service will be Thursday, March 22, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road, Highland. Rev. Michael Hill presiding. The visitation hours will be Wednesday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. as well as on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service; interment will follow at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation to American Cancer Society or Crossroads Free Will Baptist Church; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
