George Alfred Wilson

George Alfred Wilson, age 85, of Highland, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at his home. Left to cherish his memory are his loving children: Dennis Wilson, Kelley Wilson, Jill Wilson, and Teresa (Robert) Taylor; and his five grandchildren: James Wilson, Niki Taylor, Brandy Taylor, Mitchell Wilson, and Celan Wilson.

George was born March 2, 1937, in Milford, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Alfred and Opal (Strine) Wilson. George met the love of his life, Jean, when they were in high school together, and they eventually were married in 1959, sharing fifty wonderful years together until Jean’s passing in 2009. During the Korean War, George proudly served his country in the United States Army. George worked as a master carpenter for his entire adult life, and was very skilled in his craft. He also enjoyed woodworking in his spare time.During his free time, George could often be found at the VFW Post 1194, where he was the treasurer and quartermaster. He was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Opal; his loving wife, Jean; his son, Larry Wilson; and his great-granddaughter Cheyanne.

In accordance with George’s memory, cremation will take place. George will be inurned at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, with his wife, Jean, at a later date.
