To Uncle Gordon, I was shy and unsure of myself but every family get together Uncle Gordon would pull me aside and tell me that I had talent and could achieve whatever I tried. It was great to know someone believed in you. When I graduated from college, he was there. He gave me $400 which was big money at the time, enough to put down a deposit on my first apartment. He said, now get out there and give them hell. Thank you for being such a great uncle and know the brothers are having poker games in heaven. Love You Dawn

Gordon and I are the same age, so as far as memories go I have many, he was charming, crafty, and a very good friend, and a little bit on the bad brother side like throwing dead spiders at me and enjoying my screams, or enjoying too much the talent he had of getting my temper up, so many memories, I am going to miss him

Uncle Gordon - you will be so missed by so many. I have so many great memories of seeing you and aunt Karen. All the family events or just a visit to your house. Even as a young boy, you always treated me like I was a grown-up. Making a big deal of shaking my hand (always with a dollar or two that would come my way as a result).

Thank you for all your support and guidance over the years.

I was Uncle Gordon's favorite way before Dean was a gleam in my Dad's eye :) I shared my memories via phone, but for some reason, they did not take? Here I go again:

Uncle Gordon helped Robin I so many times during our marriage but no more so when our first son died while living in Ca. Uncle Gordon knew I needed a job for we were coming back to Michigan during a recession and things were tough. It took him a couple of days and what do you know, he found me a very good job by calling in some favors. This meant so much to Robin and I and I will never forget him.

Uncle Gordon / Aunt Karen always came to visit with his boys all dressed up in matching outfits. Like Dean he was always stylist wearing the latest trends. He also like to push our buttons and dominate us in sports when we were little.
One snowing Thanksgiving, he and the crew came to our farm in Richmond. I was a senior and my other brother was a 10th grader and both of us played HS Football.
Uncle Gordon shows up with a gold chain around his neck and of course, we had to call him out .... e.g., "before you wore chains, you use to play us in Football? Now you don't!"
So Uncle Gordon and my Dad played us in tackle football. We kicked off to them.... I ran through the snow full steam and Uncle Gordon faked me out while my brother waited for him. He tried to get around him but by then, I had made up ground from behind. Doug hit him hard low and I hit him hard high and Uncle Gordon's went down face first glasses and chain broke. He went in the house after that and nobody felt bad for him :) That is typical Uncle Gordon! haha.

He also gave me so much advice growing up and during my early years as a husband and father, much I can't repeat - haha

He was a special person and I'm sure Homer, Hershel, Doug and Elmo and Mary his parents are waiting for him. I will miss him a lot. Dan

We are going to miss you so much. Uncle Gordon was always a big part of my life. I have great memories of going to his lake house. I remember thinking one day I want a house just like Uncle Gordon. Enjoyed my visits when I came back to Michigan and loved hearing all the stories about him, my Dad, Uncle Homer and Uncle Hershel. Your favorite Nephew Dean:)

Dearest Uncle Gordon,
I will miss you terribly! The love and support you and Aunt Karen have always shown me is simply immeasurable and will always be cherished. You were one of the most important men in my life and it’s just surreal that you are no longer with us on this earth. I do find comfort knowing you are at peace now and are with your beautiful wife. Heaven has been blessed with another amazing angel!
Until we meet again,
Your loving neice~ Jennifer

We had a lot of fun throughout the years in the Knights of Columbus and Holy Spirit Men's Club. I enjoyed your candidness and your passion for your faith and family. May you rest in peace, Sir Knight. Our heartfelt prayers for the family and friends of Gordon.
Hope you're having a great round of golf with your crew and wife in heaven.
God Bless,
Young Family
