Forever in my thoughts & heart. Love you Jim!

Think of you always Jim. Will always regret not having found you sooner. Thankful for the reunion, and time, I was able to have with you. I love you.

You are always in my thoughts Jim, and will forever be in my heart ❤️ . I don't cry at the mention of your name anymore. I'm sad you are gone, but I smile and remember the two beautiful days I had with you at the end. Love you...XO

  I do not remember the first day I met Jim but, I will never forget the years we spent working and playing together.  Like so many others in his Hitachi family I got to work and play sports with Jim.  For several years we were defensive line mates in hockey.  His drive on the ice, and strategy on the bench was always a benefit.  At work he had a supporting role for what I was doing, first in the EMC test lab and later the Calibration lab. No one ever had to wait long for anything from Jim, his ability to support the needs of the building was always above and beyond.
  Like so many I was a victim of his pranks several times.  A target of the “Tock” (tongue popping) fake stomach punch when walking through the hallway…  I feel sorry for the people that never got to meet him,  He changed my life and I will miss him every day.  His love of life was inspiring,  His love of learning was encouraging.  
  Jim was the class clown, scholar, patriot, and Jock combined if you had to describe him to others.  
  Jim always saw the opportunity never the challenge.  
I have never known a person like Jim Koch, until we meet again.

Heaven has gained an angel with a heart of gold. Jim was my co-worker and it was always a pleasure to hold conversation with him. He loved to make you laugh.
He will be truly missed.

Jim’s heart was so full of love for his family.  Anytime he spoke about Jamie or Bud you could hear in his voice how proud he was of both of them. Jim’s devotion to Beth was one of awe. 

The random acts of kindness Jim displayed both to his friends and family, but also for complete strangers was one of his finest qualities. 

I’m truly saddened to imagine a world without Jim in it, but I know that his memory will live on in the hearts of all the lives that he touched. 

When you are overwhelmed with sorrow from missing this special man, think about one of his many jokes, pranks or other antics and hopefully that will bring a smile to your face and warmth to your heart. 

My Dearest Nephew,

You rose from the ashes of childhood and grew to be a most incredibly unique man! You are "more" than enough, yet still felt you needed to accomplish more. Your love for your family runs deep, that can never be denied! I've never heard anyone speak of their wife, children and grands the way you do.  Always verbally expressing your love for them with such emotion in your voice! Then to see you with them, and witness the completeness of who you all are together. So real, so compassionate!

Your love for life was contagious! After our talks, I would picture our families at the shore, watching all the kids playing in the waves. Waiting for the sunset, as we sat listening to the waves pound the shore. Enjoying a passion we both shared, where no words were needed. (We'll still do that one day!)

Jim, you are such a kind, gentle, sensitive, loving man. You made a difference in this world! You'll never realize how many lives you've touched! I am so  very proud of who you are, and all that you have accomplished! Keep watching over us,  (especially Jamie...LOL), until we can be together again. You may be gone from sight, but never from my heart and mind. I love you.     Shirley

There was no gentler soul than Jim Koch! Love for his family was number one with Jim.  His sense of humor was contagious, his generosity above reproach and he had the kindest heart.  

Being a close friend of Beth really automatically made you a close friend to Jim.  It was just that way.

When I think of Jim, a smile will always come over me, and that's how I'll remember Jim.

My deepest condolences to Jim's family. I worked with Jim  in the past three and a half years at Hitachi.  He  was always very supportive and motivating as a co-worker. He always lighted us all up in the office with his laugh, humor, kindness and positivity.   Jim was a big asset to the company and we will all miss him.



I worked with Jim at Hitachi for 19 years. Jim was a great asset to Hitachi, he had skills and talent that management could count on whenever challenges arised. I also got to play roller hockey with Jim when Hitachi had a roller hockey team. I cherish those days. It was really fun to have skated with Jim. I have to say though when I think of Jim all I see is the love he had for his wife and kids. He loved them so much. Jim, you  are a  GREAT person, and thanks for helping me and being supportive  to me at Hitachi. I will miss you so much and you and your family will be in my thoughts and heart.  Hugs Jim

Hey Jim.,
Heaven has gained a gentle soul.  I have always treasured our conversations whether it was political, grand kids, and or office related.  I have always thought you were a voice of reasoning.  The pranks will always be a memory.  We will continue our conversations later as I am sure we will meet again.

Jim was such a kind-hearted and helpful person.  
I had a great time working with him. 
You will be missed, my friend.



My condolences to the family.  I worked with him a little at Hitachi.  He was a good guy and will be missed.

The world is a better place because Jim was in it.

Jim was alway full of life and love. He would spread it with people he knew or complete strangers without any bias or judgment. Leading by example is how he would go about getting things done and spreading love. His smile, voice and laugh could instantly raise the morale of everyone around him. 

You could tell how much he loved his family and how proud he was of them by the way he spoke about them. Whenever I saw him a bit stressed at work I would always ask him about how his family was. A smile appearing on his face and eyes full of love, he would begin talking about them. Whether it was big news or even just everyday things, a short chat or long discussion, talking with Jim  was always enough to make the day better.

He would always say he was at the bottom of the totem pole, but I think he’s the most successful person I’ve ever known.

My sister Jamie and I are very fortunate to have had a father like my dad. He was a smart, caring, wise, generous and an empathetic man.  I remember my family came to Parris Island to watch me graduate boot camp. He and my family were able to find where my platoon was staged at while we were inside doing training. When we finished and went outside, dad was the first person I seen. He gave a big smile, making me smile which, in turn was enough to get myself corrected by the drill instructors. My dad never stopped guiding me in life and his lasting influence and teachings will always be with me. For that reason, he will never be truly gone. His quick-witted sense of humor will ensure that he will never be forgotten. I love you dad, and you are already missed.

Dad will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, intelligence, and most of all his sense of humor. He would break for turtles, any animal really, and help them cross the street. He would give charity to people and families in need. He was knowledgeable in nearly every subject, especially science. Most of all, dad was funny. He told hilarious jokes, pulled the best pranks, made the funniest facial expressions, and could just make anyone laugh. Dad will forever be in our hearts and may we cherish the memories we have of him. 

     Jim filled our lives with love, joy, much laughter and lots of fun.  Our family and friends knew that Jim could make anytime a good time.
     I could not have wished for a better companion and best friend to share my life with.   He filled each and everyday with love.
     Jim was so very proud of his children and took great pride in their accomplishments and life defining moments.  Whether coaching them as kids or cheering them on as adults he always made it clear how much he loved them.
He will be greatly missed, but always in our hearts.
