Michael Neville Uribe was 74 years old, and died peacefully in his sleep, at home, surrounded by the people he cherished most, his family. Michael and Becky (Rebecca Sharpy) were married on June 29, 1973. They had two children, a son Brandon Michael, and a daughter, Heather Nicole Chrostowski (Edmund). He has three beautiful granddaughters, Aurora, Abigail, and Emily, whom he worshipped and could do no wrong.
Michael is the first born child of Miguel and Florence (Brooks), followed by Margarita, Florence and Ricardo. He has a total of eight more siblings. Michael grew up in Inkster Michigan and attended Robichaud High School. He met his wife, Becky five years before they ever dated because of Becky’s friendship with his sister Florence. They began dating in 1970 and married in 1973.
After his graduation in 1967, Michael served four years in the Army. After leaving the Army, he worked small jobs until getting in to work for General Motors on the line. Before retirement, Michael was working electrical test and repair.
Michael enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, hunting different plants and animals. He participated in rock hunting, but preferred climbing the sand dunes with the grandchildren. Michael loved our River property and camping, however, his absolute favorite was the house we bought in Afton. No matter which direction we went, we were within 30 miles of our favorite areas to explore.
Michael was the most caring and loving person you would ever meet. Rarely lost his temper and tried to please everyone, especially his wife Becky. He vowed to take care of her and see to it she always had everything she ever wanted or needed. He never wanted to be the one to make her cry. He tried to keep that promise with the last breath he took.
Michael will forever be in our thoughts, prayers, and in our hearts. Part of him will always be with us.
