Mike I'm going to miss you so much.... Your jokes... Your secret tricks about life...your charisma... Your helping hand... But I know God wanted you so he called you home. We will miss you dearly but I know one day we will meet again. RIP mike and we love you Becky and Jon.

Becky – I was truly saddened for you to hear of Mike's passing.  There is an absolute that none of us are well equipped to understand and accept why a loved one is taken.  It doesn't seem just.  The important truth here now, is that the time you and Mike spent will fuel warm memories that will last you a lifetime and beyond.  He is your soul and you his, something that cannot be taken away from the passing of a person in the physical world.  I pray that the immediate pain of this will not linger and that soon you will be able to smile at the thoughts of good times.  Please accept my condolences and know that you have all of the support and love of family and friends to hug you whenever you need it.

We only have one first best friend in life, and Mike was mine. I never realized how important he was to me until I heard of his death. I now wish I would've told him. I hadn't talked to Mike in probably 25 years, but the news of his passing hit me pretty hard. We were very close until High School, but after that we drifted apart and pretty much went our separate ways. I guess this is why I'll always see him as my 12 year old friend. The friend I played with, rode bikes with, went fishing with, climbed trees with, went to the scramble track with, hunted for golf balls with, camped on the island with, and so many more things that are flooding back into my memories. We did what young boys did before they were turned into bug-eyed zombies transfixed on the electric screen a few inches in front of their faces. But the thing I remember most about Mike was the size of his big heart--he was such a kind soul. But back in the day, this is what actually frustrated me about him. Talking him into doing mischief was like pulling teeth! While I was usually getting him into some kind of trouble, he was usually keeping me out of it. He really was a good guy, even from such an early age.  Goodbye Mike, for as long as I live you'll always be my smiling, lighthearted childhood friend. Thanks for all the good memories.
