Richard Nicholas Cimino was born in Detroit, Michigan, May 20, 1950, to his parents Michael and Theresa Cimino. Richard was a happy child who loved his parents and siblings deeply. Richard grew up in a home where he knew he was loved and appreciated. He talked about a family trip to Florida, a car with no AC (it was really hot) and mentioned a few times about a pet dog he had.
As Richard became a little older, he took a job at McDonalds. He ended up working for McDonalds for 16 years and finished his career there as a Regional Manager. After he left, he started his own business (Academy Video). After a few years of business, he closed the doors and started a career in the concrete and block industry. This career led to a rich number of blessings and memories. Some of the memories that come to mind are all the Tigers and Lions games we attended. He also worked as a manager at Dollar General to finish out his working career. As you know the last several years, he has been enjoying retirement and working part time at the Loony Bakery. He really enjoyed listening to the older customers coming in talking about stories from years gone by. His hobbies included his children and grandchildren. He always was interested in knowing how and what his children and grandchildren were doing. He especially loved the holiday times knowing he was able to surround himself with his children and grandchildren, the ones he had so much love for. He also, had a passion for baseball particularly for the Detroit Tigers and the old-English D they wore on their jerseys, he loved NASCAR, (Dale Earhart, was his favorite driver), most sports teams in Florida, Traverse City Michigan and Hollywood Florida where his parents had a home for several years. One memory that comes to mind because he still talked about it, was one of his trips to Florida with Chris and Amber. They spent the day in Key West riding around the island on motor scooters. They rode the scooters off the beaten path and explored the island that day and found a hole in the wall restaurant where they enjoyed lunch. Richard had so much joy that day from riding around and seeing the smiles on the faces of his son and daughter in law.
Richard is survived by Sister, Norine (Jack) Moskaitis and Brother, Michael (Lisa) Cimino, Sons Derek Cimino and Christopher (Amber) Cimino and Daughter Nichole (Frank) Franz. Grandchildren Jacob, Alaina, Landen, Makenna and Audrey. Uncle to Megan, Michael, Nina and friend to all
