Alan was born in Grosse Pionte, MI September 24, 1953 to Alanson and Alice Schryer. He was a member of Rose Park Baptist Church. Alan was a teacher at Calvary Baptist School, owner of C.E. Electrical Inc., and proudly served our country in the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his son James Schryer in 2004; a brother Gerald Schryer; and a sister-in-law Katherine Schulz.
Surviving are his wife of 32 years Marteka Schryer of Holland; children, Sarah Schryer, Sandra Schryer, and Gideon Schryer (fiancé Kalee Harrington; Siblings Carol DePuys and Ron (Sharon) Schryer; In-laws, Sandy Harden, Michael (Anne) Goodall, Gladys (Jack) Sullivan, Fonda (Roger) Jockisch, Laura Goodall, Annette (Jerry) DeHaven; many extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Rose Park Baptist Church, 600 Butternut Dr., Holland. Officiating will be Pastors Kim Meyering and Robert Pophal. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, from 11am until the time of the service at Rose Park Baptist Church.
