Arloa Jane Tjapkes, aged 87, passed away on January 23, 2026. Born on January 29, 1938, in Zeeland, Michigan, she was the beloved daughter of Albert and Angeline Westfield. Arloa graduated from high school in 1956.
She married the love of her life, Ronald Tjapkes, on May 16, 1958, and together they had two beautiful children. Arloa was a devoted wife and mother, residing in Holland, Michigan.
Arloa was known for her love of caring for others and her supportive nature. She was a people person and a comedian who loved to joke with friends and family. Arloa enjoyed traveling with Ronald, one of her favorite trips being to Switzerland and Italy. She even kept black sand from their trip to Hawaii as a cherished memory.
Arloa is survived by her children, Brian (Stephanie) Tjapkes and Laurel (Brent) Webster; her grandchildren, Isaac Schreur, AdamTjapkes, Ethan (LeAnn) Webster, and Calla (Nate) Conroy; her great-grandchild, Jude Conroy; her brother-in-law, Jerry Vanderstelt; and two nephews and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Tjapkes; her brother, Darryl Westfield; and her sister, Elaine Dawn Vanderstelt.
An open house celebration of life will be held on January 30, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Lakeshore Memorial (11939 James St, Holland, MI 49424).
Arloa Jane Tjapkes will be remembered for her loving spirit, her quick wit, and her dedication to her family and friends.
