Cecilia Pearl Farrell, a devoted resident of Holland, Michigan, passed away on December 22, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on August 14, 1933 in Rome Kentucky, Cecilia was known for her loving, supportive, and kindhearted nature. She was a remarkable woman who never complained and was the first in her family to achieve a bachelor's degree from college.
Cecilia spent many years teaching in Kentucky before moving to Michigan, where she began working at Haworth in accounting for a significant portion of her career. Later in life, she dedicated her time to volunteering with many organizations including Hospice, a role she was particularly proud of. Her commitment to her community was unwavering; she was a servant of both her community and God, and a regular attendant at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church.
Cecilia was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Farrell, her sisters Teresa Oberailis, Myrtle Cable, Ethel Coomes, Ella Dee Powers, Mary Joe Dant, Eveline Coomes, Genevieve Sharpton, Bernadette Howard, and Waltrude Higdon and brothers
Conroy Coomes, Gerald Coomes, Jake Coomes and Thomas Coomes.
She is survived by her daughter Mary (Ken) DeJong, her grandchildren Breanna DeJong, Gabriel (Rylee) DeJong, and Bailey (Ben) Feistritzer, her great-grandson Luke DeJong, her sister-in-law Shirley Coomes, and many nieces and nephews.
Cecilia's life was a testament to her faith and her dedication to her family and community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
