
Clares was a member of Family Church in Holland, a long time member of the Tulip City Rod and Gun Club (one of the original members), and also a member of the NRA. Along with volunteering for the City Mission, Young Life, and Hungry for Christ, he and Norma were very involved in Food Distribution Relief for many years. Clares worked as a truck driver for many years prior to retiring. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping, and traveling with his wife Norma. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Clares is survived by his wife Norma of 61 years; his children, Brian (Jennifer) Lubben, Steve (Kirstin) Lubben, and Terri (Rick) Machiele; 7 grandchildren, Craig (Jodi) Lubben, Mandi (Drew) Stout, Brett (Chelsea) Lubben, Andrew (Rebecca) Hubbell, Lindsey Hubbell, Kyle Lubben, and Taylor Lubben; 4 great grandchildren, Hartlee, Ilee, Loxlee, and Oliver Stout; brother Paul (Lynn) Lubben; in-laws Marilyn Lefers, Roger Lefers, Bev Lefers, Donna (Glenn) VanderLey, and Wayne (Janet) Lefers; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Clares life will be 11:00am Saturday,10:00am until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland or to Hungry for Christ in Clares honor.
