

Dorie was born Sept. 29, 1932 to Herman and Sadie Brookhouse. She was a lifelong resident of the Holland area and First Reformed Church in Holland. Dorie worked at the Southside Family Fare for 13 years, and more recently, was the director of the Kitchen Band at Appledorn.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tom; daughter Pat Vork; and grandson Troy Weller.
Dorie is survived by her daughters Janet (Howard) Huyser Jr., Judy (Roger) Boone, son Mike (Kim) Weller; son-in-law Marlan Vork; Grandchildren Dana (Andrew) de Bernardo, Matthew (Amanda) Huyser, Michelle (Roger) Reed, Jodi (Elliot) Essenburg, Marcy Van Order, Ryan (Jessie) Boone, Adam Boone, Brevin Weller, Ian and Alex Weller; 15 great-grandchildren, John de Bernardo, Peter de Bernardo, William de Bernardo, Claire Huyser, James Huyser, Ethan Huyser, Daniel Huyser, Jordan (Preston) Skinner, Jared Reed, Sadie Essenburg, Evelyn Essenburg, Ashley Essenburg, Kelli (Aaron Smith) Arens, Parker Boone and Olivia Boone. Great Great Grandchildren: Kayden Pennell and Ava Skinner; In-laws Raymond (Doris) Weller, and Marge Barkel; Many extended family and friends.
A service to celebrate Dorie’s life will be 11:00am, Friday, April 14, 2023 at First Reformed Church, 630 State St., Holland. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. (The service will be livestreamed on First Reformed Church's Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/frcholland/ )
Visitation will be Thursday, April 13 from 5-8:00pm at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St., Holland.
