Elgene Vivian Vanden Brink

She was born on October 30, 1924 to Silas and Sadie Barkel in Overisel, MI.

Jean was a member of Rose Park Reformed Church and the Tulip Town Tuners. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry (1975) and brother, Elmer Barkel.

She is survived by her children, James and Marcia Vanden Brink of Holland, Diane and Howard Van Wieren of Grand Haven, Sandra Vanden Brink and Trevor Matthews of Holland, Scott and Holly Vanden Brink of Toledo, OH, and John and Sue Vanden Brink of Holland; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; Brothers and Sisters, Vern and Joyce Barkel of Holland, Alden and Hester Barkel of Holland, and Norm and Myra Barkel of Zeeland; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street in Holland. Pastor David VanOpstall will be officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 10 a.m., one hour prior to the service at Lakeshore Memorial.
