My dear husband, best friend and love of my life,  so many things I wish I had done differently, one specific is that I wish I would have danced in the garage with you more instead of just watching.  I worried to much about how I'd look and now I won't get that chance again.  You always did tell me that I need to stop worrying about what people think of me, I wish I had listened sooner.  On our first date you had me thinking to myself what am I getting myself into?  I got into a relationship with a man who loved me the way I am!  You did not care so much about the outward appearance you cared about the heart.  I always tried to look my best for you because I wanted you to be proud to have me by your side, you did not verbalize things a lot because you told me that  I always looked nice and that you were proud of me.  you were my biggest cheerleader with my job and most recently actually before you got sick,  we had the conversation and you told me that you believe that someday I’m going to run that place! You believed in me more than I ever believed in myself. When Heather and I moved in she had a very negative attitude about herself as well, You are what changed that in her because now she is positive and she’s just an amazing young woman because of the influence that you had in her life. I am sad that you will not see her graduate or be at her wedding, then again we all know how much you hated weddings but I know that you would have wanted to be at hers.  you were and always will be the amazing man that I married and helped me through some of my toughest times. I will always be proud that you were such a great stepdad.    we are going to miss... correction we already miss your craziness!  You always made things fun, even when I would get mad at you somehow you still made me laugh. I know that you are no longer in pain and I know that you are able to breathe now on your own. I love you dearly.......Until we meet again 🖤💜🖤💜

Gene, here’s to a life well lived. You will be missed man, but your legacy lives on. Your love and service for others is what I will remember you for most. I’m so grateful to have gotten the chance to get to know you earthside. Until we meet again my friend. 

Wow, It has only been a few days since I heard the news, and I am still a little in shock.  You had a way of welcoming people into your home and making them feel special and wanted.  You went out of your way to make Dave feel wanted too, Buying special alcohol that he liked and even went as far as buying some Disc golf baskets for him to use when he came over.  You helped my cousin learn how to use her handgun, and you always liked to talk music with Marcus.  I really appreciate how you went out of your way for me.  I will treasure the pooping animals coloring book and the Marijuana flags you sent me.  You were one of a kind!   I promise to keep an eye on Kristi and Heather and be there for them now that you cannot.  Heaven has gained an amazing man.  Love you and Miss you!  Holly

GENE, there will never be another man like you who treated his mother-in-law like a queen.  I loved you so much and it meant so much to me how much you loved Kristi and Heather. Heaven is sweeter with you there. I hope you find my momma some time and tell her you are my AWESOME son-in-law. She will love you. Thanks for all the love you shared. I LOVE YOU...Until we meet again. I'll take good care of Kristi and Heather.

Gene never wanted me on his bus kept getting caught by a train on godfrey.  
He said I would be ban from his bus if we got caught by a train.  Every time he would look in his mirror at me. Gene was my favorite bus driver always could  make me laugh . We grew up in the same neighborhood  went to the same schools. Going to miss Gene. 

Mean Gene that's how I though of him until we actually talked total different person then what his look represented. I was his coworker for almost 15 years.  You will be missed. RIP 

Gene and Kristi were always gracious hosts. They would feed us and hang out with us as long as we wanted. Never felt like we were imposing. Gene was a fun and crazy man and he will be missed by many. 

I lived one block over from Gene while growing up.  I was deeply saddened when learning about by his passing.  I recall his laugh and the separate occasions we played together like it was yesterday instead of the many years that have passed.  Praying his family is comforted in the Grace of our Lord. I’m gonna miss picking on my mom with you And you always playing tricks on us and then just laughing because you couldn’t believe we’d fall for all the stuff you said. 

Gene grew up 1 street over from me. He was a very nice guy. I'm so sorry for your loss. He was taken way too soon.

Gene, I remember when I was spending the night at your house with Heather. You made us these AMAZING grilled cheese sandwiches, to this day it was the best I’ve ever had!! You and your unique, fun personality will be missed❤️

I just recently met Gene in the fall of 2021. It was at cardio drumming and he was a new face (to me) in class. We casually chatted and giggled at how amazing we were without even really knowing each other (note: definitely not amazing). Then the next class, Gene was there with Kristi and introduced me to, who I immediately bonded with and am grateful to have become friends with. There were a few more classes Gene went to and Kristi would share how excited was because he had been practicing his “make it up moves”. Even when Gene wasn’t able to attend class, Kristi would light up and regale us with witty things Gene had said about us “troublemakers in class.” 

One day while talking to Kristi, I was floored to find out her and Gene had only been married about two years. They seemed like they were meant to be: the happiness and joy they share(d) for life is contagious.

I did not know you long, Gene, but I am better because I did.

Gene was a wonderful man he taught me things he was so helpful and patient he was always there when I needed him he put me on a moped when I didn't think I could my property wouldn't look as good if it wasn't for his assistant he felt like an older brother to me we had laugh's we had cry's together he will always be missed and loved never forgotten he was that wonderful

You don’t have to be strong. It’s ok to fall apart sometimes. What I’ve learned in death is life goes on. The hum drum things still need to get done. You still need to do the wash and go to the grocery store. Nothing changes. Yet EVERYTHING CHANGES. you just want to scream at the people around you that have no idea and are going about their every day things. “Don’t you know?? We lost a great man. This world is forever changed!”  Everything changes. Yet nothing changes. The circle of life. The circle of loss. Hugs.

I never got to meet you personally, although, I felt like I’ve known you forever.  You made my best friend so happy.  I hadn’t seen a smile on Kristi’s face in a LONG time!  You really made her the happiest woman in the world!  I’m so sad that I didn’t get to meet you before God took you home. I’m very HAPPY that I will get to meet you in heaven though.
