George was a farmer and also worked for Bohn and Haworth. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Kleis.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jeanne; children, Steven (Amanda) Kleis, Thomas (Denise) Kleis; daughter-in-law Cheryl Kleis; 10 Grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Rozema; and many extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be 2:00pm, Thursday, June 16, 2016 at First United Methodist Church, 57 West 10th Street, in Holland.
Memorial Contributions may be given to Hospice of Holland.
