Gloria Gay Edwards, 82, of Eagle River, Wisconsin, died peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Lakeside Side Vista in Holland, Michigan, near her son. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on March 5, 1944, Gloria’s life was marked by steady devotion—to family, to those in her care, and to the simple comforts that made everyday moments feel a little brighter.
Gloria was born to Grant “Bud” Talmadge and Marguerite Palmer in March of 1944, and she was raised by Joseph J. Casey and Marguerite Palmer Casey.
Over the years, Gloria found purpose in caring for others through her work as a nurse’s aid. That same giving spirit shaped the way she lived beyond her work, expressed in the love she held for her family and in the warmth she extended to those around her.
An avid animal lover, Gloria had a special tenderness for dogs, cats, and rabbits—and at one time even had a house broken pig. She also enjoyed Bingo and the slots, and in more recent days she found particular delight in Hallmark movies, which became her latest favorite pastime.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly L Edwards; her parents, Joseph and Marguerite Casey; her brother, Joseph Casey, Jr.; her sister, Charlotte; and her daughter, Renee (Scott) Rackley.
Gloria is survived by her son, David (Laura); six grandchildren, Tiffany, Dryw, Meagan, Gabby, David Jr, and Connor; three great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Greyson, and Tobin; her brother, Stan; and her sisters, Joann and Jane.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Gloria’s name to the Humane Society of Vilas County.
