Hillechien (Hilda) Suzenaar, 94, moved on to her final home on November 4, 2025. She was the only child of Siewert and Trintje Hesling born March 4, 1931 in Groningen, The Netherlands. A kind and loving child, she faced the challenges of war that molded her into the person that she grew into. Always giving and doing for others, whether a helping hand, a meal, or even just a muffin. Her greatest joy in life was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Immigrating to the states in 1956, a journey she never thought she’d take, with her husband Kees, baby daughter, and being 5 months pregnant. Settling in Battle Creek until Kees unexpectedly passed in 1969 at the age of 42. Moving to Holland where family was, she worked at Banner Bakery, French Pastry, and lastly at Holland Hospital in the cafeteria. She always loved meeting the staff and visitors, treating them as if she were inviting them into her home. Hilda finally retired at the age of 78.
She was preceded in death by her husband Cornelis (Kees), and her parents.
She is survived by three children, Ingrid and Al Lanning, Hans and Deborah Suzenaar, and LInda and Mike Perez, as well as 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, a special niece Connie Rodante, and nephew Max Suzenar.
