
He was born to Blanche and John Wallace on June 2, 1937 in St Louis, MO. He grew up in St Louis with his sister and brother and graduated from Webster Groves High School in 1955. He married Roxanne Russell in 1956 and they resided in St. Louis until 1991 when they moved to Holland, MI. He spent 35 years working in the computer industry. Shortly after arriving in MI, he retired and began working for Tabor Hill Winery, where he worked until the time of his death. Jim and Roxanne were active in bell choirs at First United Methodist Church of Holland.
Jim is survived by his wife Roxanne Wallace; daughter Carole Vatterott, and husband Joseph Vatterott; daughter Gail Petro, and husband Daniel Petro; daughter Anne Wallace, and husband Richard Slachta; and daughter Joan Wallace. Jim has nine grandchildren: Nicholas and wife Meghan, Andrew, Stephen, Amanda, Joseph, Olivia, Sarah, Samuel and Michael. He has one great granddaughter Adalyn.
There will be a brief visitation at 2:00pm on July 14th at First United Methodist Church of Holland, 57 West 10th Street, with a service immediately following at 3:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent directly to Holland High School Marching Band Uniform Fund, directly to First United Methodist Church of Holland Bell Choirs, or to Disability Network at: dnlakeshore.org
