

Faye Barnett, age 83, passed away at home on May 25, 2019 after a brief illness. She was born on May 6, 1936 and spent her childhood living in various states, but always call Bruce, Mississippi her home. She was predeceased by her parents Maurice and Lona K. (Kelley) Barnett, her sister Nell Olson, and brothers Jack and Fred Barnett She is survived by her children, Debbie (Phil) Earley of Muskegon, Michael (Kristi) Dekker of West Olive, Bev Schaner of Holland, Scott (Barb) Dekker of Spring Lake, and David Dekker of Holland. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael Schaafsma, Chrystal Lobdell, April (Dan) Smith, Jonathan (Stephanie) Fisk, Kate (Paul) Allison, Sean Fisk, Preston Earley, Chris Dekker, Maddie Dekker, and David Schaner, 11 great grandchildren, and stepmother Darlene Barnett. She has many relatives; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, whom live all over the country who she cherished. Faye was a beautiful and kind woman who was loved by all. Among many of her great attributes, one of her best was her ability to comfort anyone going through a tough time. She was a world class "Scrabble" player and was also was an avid baseball fan who loved her Detroit Tigers and rarely missed watching a game. She felt blessed to have lived a long and healthy life with very little illness, but even if she wasn't feeling well she always asked how everyone was doing. Faye worked at Lifesavers in Holland, Michigan for 10 years and as Deputy Auditor of Jerome County Courthouse in Jerome, Idaho where she lived for 19 years before she retired and moved back to Holland to be near her children.
