Julie Ann Porter, 65, of Holland, Michigan, passed away on April 20, 2026. Born on July 13, 1960, Julie was the daughter of Wayne Porter and Margaret Porter, both of whom preceded her in death. The youngest of six children, Julie carried through life with a steady warmth and a generous spirit that made others feel seen, welcomed, and cared for.
Julie grew up in a close-knit family and was especially close to her sister, Luwayne McKeever; the two spent much of their younger years side by side, forming a bond that remained a cherished part of Julie’s life. She graduated from Fennville High School around 1978, marking the beginning of a life defined not by fanfare, but by quiet faithfulness and sincere devotion to the people and places she loved.
A devout Christian, Julie found deep comfort in her faith, which served as a guiding light during her long battle with cancer. She gave freely of her time through volunteer work at her church, where she spent much of her free time. In those hours of service, Julie’s kindness was not simply spoken of—it was lived, expressed through steady presence, willing hands, and a heart that consistently put others first.
Julie will also be remembered for the care she brought to everyday life. Meticulous and exceptionally organized, she noticed even the smallest things out of place and took great pride in keeping her surroundings in perfect order—clean, peaceful, and without a speck of dust in sight. In her later years, Julie most treasured time spent with friends and family, finding joy in the simple gift of being together.
Julie is survived by her sisters, Luwayne McKeever and Barbara McCulley; her nephews, Jason Moorehead, Shawn (AJ) McKeever, and Adam McKeever; and her great-niece, Rowan McKeever. She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Porter; her mother, Margaret Porter-Drew; her stepfather Robert Drew; and her brothers, Wally Porter, David Porter, and Jamie Porter.
