Vern was a member of Hanley Christian Reformed Church. Vern was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired as a truck driver from Steelcase.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bruce Plank, and a great grandson, Jusiah Vander Markt.
Vern is survived by his wife, Kathryn Ouding; Children, Bev (Steve) Allen, Bruce (Cheri) Ouding, Tom (Sheila) Ouding, Kathy (Bob) Vander Markt, and Robin (Phil) Ipema; 18 Grandchildren; 39 Great Grandchildren; Brother and Sisters-in-law; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be 7:00pm Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Hanley Christian Reformed Church, 372 Jackson St. SW, Grandville.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00pm until the time of the service at Hanley CRC.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
