My favorite memories of my grandfather is when my grandparents would take us to Saugatuck to walk around downtown. Always on the ride home it was almost guaranteed that star 105.7 would play Build Me Up Buttercup. And my grandpa and grandma would sing it to each other. My grandma using her hand to point at him and him staring at her and smiling. Winking back at us when my grandma would take her solos. The love shared between them was one of a kind. And I'm so thankful she picked an amazing man to be apart of our lives.

I will miss you Leo, and I will miss all your wonderful stories.

We will miss our dear neighbor, Leo, and watching him put up the beautiful lights on the trees and house that glistened for each special holiday...or for no reason at all! We remember seeing him and Valerie at the Summer Concert Series in Holland dancing away with the best smile on both of their faces. We hold all of his family and friends in our thoughts and prayers. I met Leon and Valerie one Friday evening at Kollen Park to listen to one of the free conerts they put on every year.  During one of the songs Leon stood up, put his hand out and asked Valerie to dance.  All of a sudden I'm watching the two of them dancing on the sidewalk, cheek to cheek and the big smile on his face was priceless.  That's when I knew he truly loved Valerie and that's how I will remember him.

Leo always had a great joke to tell. My prayers go out to his family.

This really saddens me. I'll miss you in the mornings Leo. My condolences goes out to his family in their time of sorrow.

I worked with Leo at Kellogg. Whenever I worked with him in the K-tron room I would ask him to tell me some of his stories. He enjoyed sharing about them. His face would light up.
He wasn't afraid to tell you how he felt about something and to stand up for what he believed in.
I'm glad that I was able to work with him and know him.

Pretty must lost for words. Leo wasn't just a coworker or a friend, he was family. I remember when he got elected for the Honor Guard. I had never seen him so excited at work. He yelled at me from across the plant just to tell me. He was an amazing guy. I enjoyed working side by side with him on The High 5 team. He was definitely one of a kind. I will miss his singing and dancing on his good days and his random outbursts on his bad days. Even though he was mad he still made me laugh. :) My friend, I will miss you!

Leo was such a nice guy with a big personality. We will miss you and your stories and your popcorn making skills at work. Rest in peace Leo, your kellogg family will miss you dearly

Leo was one of my boys. He was such a great part of my team at work, and I could always count on him to get the job done. 
I've never met such a hard worker in my life. I'll miss his jokes that I never understood, him yelling at the tv in the break room, his loud voice because he couldn't hear me, and him yelling "WOMAN!" to get my attention..I already miss him.

We were so sorry to learn of Leo's passing. Always enjoyed talking to him at the kids parties, he was always happy with a big smile. Will be thinking of you.

 Leo had a heart of gold!! Him & my Mom had been married for just over 27 years, I was almost 20 when I first met him and I was old enough to not need a "Step-Dad" so I wasn't quite sure who he would be to me?? Who he turned out to be to me was a Man that loved my Mom and put up with all of her "quirks", they really did enjoy the 27 years that they had together, they enjoyed dancing to 50's music, going to movies, traveling and he would let her literally drag him on endless shopping extravaganzas!! And he also turned out to be a Man that my kids would love as Grandpa, even though my kids were not tied to him as blood relatives...that did not change the fact that he loved my kids so very much and would do anything for them! So who he was to me...he was a Man that loved my Mom and my kids and I will always be grateful to him for that and I feel beyond blessed that he stepped into my life when he did! ~ Pam De Vries

Leo was a wonderful coworker and member of our team. I was so sad to find out of his passing today and will miss him very much at work. My deepest condolences to the family, and you are all in my prayers and thoughts.

I walked into K5 one day and Leo was standing up to his knees in 2000 pounds of oats...and a thick blue cloud. He was the only one that could hear it. I turned around and came in through another door smiling with a shovel and said "I got this" He squeezed me a little and said "thanks buddy"
