

Mike was born in Mercedes, Texas on February 21, 1947 to Pedro and Angela (Aguilar) Garcia. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, was a member for Holland VFW Post 2144, and also continued his service while volunteering for the VFW Honor Guard honoring veterans who had passed away. Mike worked for Precision Metal for many years prior to retiring. He enjoyed doing crosswords and karaoke, but will mostly be remembered for the love of his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Lauralee Garcia; and 5 children Betty Lou (Alfredo) Rangel, Anna Maria (Danny) Garcia, and Angel (Esther) Garcia, Michele Bare, Amanda (Domingo) Saldana; 14 grandchildren, Freddy (Elizabeth) Rangel, Jeanette (Michael) Obregon, Jessica (Rolando) Aleman, Roland (Cassandra) Rangel, Shelley (Jose) DeLeon, Jordan (Andrea) Rangel, Amanda (Jacob) Rios, Omar (Justice Uribe) Reyna, Jessie (Naomi Godoy) Garcia, Giovanni G. (Natalie Garza) Garcia, Ashlee (Daniel) Herrera, Michael Garcia, Marcus (Marissa) Garcia, and Isaac “Ice” Garcia; 31 great grandchildren; 4 sisters Maria (Mike) Armstrong, San Juana Garcia, Alicia (Victor) Hernandez, and Elisa (Vern) Blauwkamp; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
A service to celebrate Mike’s life will be 1:00pm Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St., Holland. Graveside services with Military Honors will follow the service at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 11:00am until the time of the service at 1:00pm at the funeral home.
