Born on June 12 1920 in Harrow, Ontario, Canada, Mary dreamed of one day raising a family and becoming a homemaker. Her dreams came true when she met and shortly thereafter married John "Jack" Whiting Brown at the young age of 21. Together, the couple happily raised their seven children. Mary had many passions including gardening, sewing and baking her infamous pies. Mary's main passion though, was painting. She was a talented artist who created exceptional oil paintings which were most often scenes of glorious floral arrangements.
Mary is proceeded in death by her husband John "Jack" Whiting Brown, her sons Dennis Brown, Randall Brown, John Brown, her daughter Judith Jarzembowski, her grandson Rory Brown, and her late husband, Dr. Elmer Butt.
Mary is survived by her sons Jeffrey (Nancy) Brown, Christopher (Pia) Brown, David Brown, Son-in-law Damien Jarzembowski, and Daughter-In-Law Ruth Brown, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, (to all of whom she is fondly known as Nana), sister Jean Branch of Kingsville, Ontario and brother Wilfred Clarke of Vancouver, Canada.
Her love and grace was an inspiration to all who knew her. Mary is loved very much and will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
A private memorial will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic church on Saturday, July 15, 2017
