Peggy was born during a snowstorm on January 7, 1948 in Holland, Michigan to Ike and Dorothy DeKraker. She was the baby of the family with 3 older brothers, Dale, Donald and David and 1 older sister Mary. She worked at Batts in Zeeland for many years and Bareman’s Dairy in Holland where she retired. Peggy had one daughter, Susan Middleton of Fennville, Michigan. She met her soul mate, Paul Stempfly in 1982. They had 2 dogs Dusty and Katie who they took with them when they went camping at Hill and Hollow in Pentwater. They also loved traveling. And often went with her brother Dave and his wife Chris. They had many fun adventures. Peggy loved gardening and always had flowers around. Her houseplants were legendary! She also loved working on genealogy and traced her family back to the Revolutionary War.
Peggy is preceded in death by: her parents Isaac and Dorothy DeKraker; brother, Dale DeKraker; and her doggies, Dusty, Katie, Charlie and Benji.
Peggy is survived by: her husband, Paul Stempfly; daughter, Susan Middleton; grandchildren, Tyler Boeve and Courtney Middleton; sister, Mary (Herb) Vander Ploeg; brothers, Donald DeKraker and David (Chris) DeKraker.
There will be a small visitation on Monday, March 4 at 6-7 pm.
