Phyllis Joanne Elhart, age 85, passed away on February 26, 2026. Phyllis was a beloved and devoted mother and grandmother, remembered as a loving, caring, and family-first woman who lived life to the fullest. She was a resident of Holland, Michigan.
In her early life, Phyllis met her husband, Melvin, through her brother Bob, as he was friends with Mel. Phyllis and Melvin were married for 48 years, sharing a life rooted in commitment, family, and enduring love.
Phyllis found deep joy in caring for those she loved. She was a loving and caring mother who always put her family first, she especially cherished being a grandparent and great-grandparent—one of the most important roles and greatest joys of her life.
Phyllis also embraced life with an adventurous spirit. She loved to travel with family and friends, including trips to Arizona among many others. A creative and thoughtful crafter, Phyllis often made elaborate scrapbooks that captured her family’s adventures and preserved treasured memories. She was also a devoted lover of flowers and often kept many around her home, surrounding herself with beauty and warmth.
Phyllis is survived by her sons, Brian (Sherri) Elhart and Michael (Jodi) Elhart; and her grandchildren, Brian Elhart Jr., Jennifer (Seth) Poe, Brittany Robinson, Richard (Alyse) VanVels, Christopher (Coral) Elhart, Mitchell (Morghan) Elhart, and Jonathon (Aliece) Elhart; as well as 15 Great-Grandchildren, and Many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother and sister Alvin (Muriel) Brower and Terri (David) Vanderploeg .
Phyllis was preceded in death by her brother and sisters Betty (Jack) Barton, Rosalie (David) Lawrence, and Bob Brower.
Visitation will be held at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street, Holland, Michigan 49424, on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Ridgepoint 340 104th Ave., Holland.
