Phyllis Arlene York

Phyllis A. York, age 90, of Zeeland, was greeted in heaven by her loved ones on Saturday, June 23, 2018. Phyllis was born in Alexandria, Nebraska and met her husband, Lee, while he was stationed with the United States Army Air Force in Kearney, Nebraska. They moved to Zeeland to raise their family. She loved being a mother and always opened her arms and home to nieces and nephews when the need occurred. Phyllis had an enjoyable career at Zeeland Public Schools. She was a long time member of Faith Reformed Church in Zeeland.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Lee York (2014), her beloved daughters, Cathy Staskiewicz (2012), and Carolyn Sue York (1956), her grandchildren, Renee Stanford (2014) and Scott Fredricks (2011).

A note she had copied and had placed by her chair stated, “Keep Learning, Keep Loving, Keep Laughing, Keep Joy”. Her children, Vern and Luanne York and Jerry and Faye Beck, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, will miss this beautiful limb that has fallen from the family tree.

There will be a private family celebration of this kind and gentle mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law and friend at a later date.
