Ralph Barkman, age 91, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015, at Holland Hospital in Holland, MI. Ralph worked as an engineer for forty years on the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad. He enjoyed his family, fishing, golf, and yard work. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years Jane Mary (Visscher) Barkman; his children David A. Barkman, Mary (Barkman) and Peter Romanotto; grandchildren Michael, Matthew and Bryan Romanotto. He is also survived by brother-in-law and sister-in-laws Gerrit (Gyte) Visscher and June Visscher plus nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 12, at 2 p.m. at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St. in Holland, Rev. Jonathan Brownson presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the New Community Fourth Reformed Church, 238 West 15th St. in Holland.
