Ruth Elaine Meyaard

Ruth was born in Holland, July 2, 1927 to Leon and Jessie (Van Dyke) Nykamp. She graduated from Holland Christian High School and worked as a cosmetologist for a brief time. A Charter member of Haven CRC, she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and helped in the library. Ruth loved her church, and especially loved her family, and prayed for them daily. Her only comfort in life and in death was that she was not her own, but that she belonged body and soul to her faithful Savior Jesus Christ.

She married Jay Meyaard on January 16, 1948, and he preceded her in death in 1999 after 51 years of marriage.

Ruth is survived by her children, Barbara (Harold) Headley, Mary Corbett, and Dave (Pam) Meyaard;

Grandchildren: Jon (Lora) Headley, Heather Headley, Matt Headley, David Kellum, Veronica (Troy) Dykstra, Hunter (Caitlin) Meyaard; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; in-laws, Reva Nykamp, Jerry (Jan) Meyaard; many extended family and friends.

A private graveside service and burial will take place at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Holland.
